Thinking, analysis, and reasoning. The intelligence modern life develops most, and the one AI can most easily substitute. Strong rational intelligence is necessary but no longer sufficient.
Rational intelligence covers logic, analysis, pattern recognition, data interpretation, and structured reasoning. It is the dimension that education systems, corporate culture, and AI tools all optimize for.
When rational intelligence dominates at the expense of the other three, you become replaceable by the very tools you use. AI is, at its core, a rational intelligence engine.
The pattern we see most often in assessment data: high rational scores paired with underdeveloped embodied, relational, and existential dimensions. This is not because people lack capacity in those areas. It is because nothing in their environment has demanded it.
